He was patient when I felt frazzled with writing, fighting jet lag and was busy with meetings (not the typical cruiser). He brought extra bottles of still water, simply by noticing how much I drank. The ship has a handful of accessible cabins, with grab bars in the bathroom, extra-large showers instead of tubs, outdoor access to the balcony for wheelchairs and strategic locations near elevators. The pool onboard has had more steps down into the basin added, making for easier access.

This restaurant, relatively new to Silversea, is a solid hit for good reason. Cooks don’t gussy up local dishes, keeping the soul in plates like Portuguese pan-fried salt cod on my cruise. Silver Dawn offers 8 different dining options, including 3 al-fresco / outdoor. The menu selections are not just creative, but gourmet food art. The Hot Rocks grill menu and La Terrazza dinner robust menu is stepping in future gourmet cuisine at sea.
